Re-visiting

By Rudy Buhler

We started 2026 with my own personal exhibition – Re-visiting – my journey through abstraction, colour, and expression.

This collection brings together works that reflect my ongoing exploration of emotion, movement, and texture, developed through an intuitive and layered painting process. Each piece evolves from a single colour, gradually building into a composition that seeks balance between intention and spontaneity.

The exhibition offered a glimpse into my artistic process and invites viewers to experience the subtle shifts in mood and feeling that emerge through each work.

About the artist

Rudy Buhler

My earliest experience of creating what I considered to be art began during my school years in Switzerland, using felt pens, crayons, and pencils. Over time, I explored watercolours, focusing mainly on landscapes and still life, before feeling the need to move beyond the limitations of the medium and experiment with pastel and oil.

The discovery of acrylic paint marked a turning point in my artistic journey. Its vibrancy, versatility, and fast-drying nature suited my working process, allowing me to build layers and respond intuitively to each stage of the painting.

My work is driven by the desire to express emotion, atmosphere, and movement. Each painting begins with a single colour that sets the tone, evolving gradually until a sense of balance is achieved. Knowing when a painting is complete remains one of the most challenging and rewarding parts of the process.
